Parsons is looking for an enthusiastic ESG Specialist to join our team! In this role you will work directly with the VP of ESG, supporting the advancement of corporate ESG strategies, efforts, projects, data, monitoring and reporting. You will be exposed to key activities and impacts throughout our organization, with the potential for growth in knowledge and capabilities in the areas of ESG and sustainability. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, versatile, enthusiastic and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This position is remote/virtual office.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Data analysis, research and benchmarking for ESG disclosures
- Working across functions to collect and prepare regular internal and external ESG metrics
- Preparing disclosures in accordance with various ESG disclosure frameworks, such as SASB, GRI, CDP, and TCFD.
- Supporting the development of the annual ESG report, working with content SMEs to obtain and organize documentation to develop and refine narratives
- Report, training, and presentation development for internal and external audiences, such as employees, executive leadership, the board, and investors
- Building relationships with key internal stakeholders across all businesses and departments through frequent collaboration.
- Contributing to process improvements in GHG emissions data collection, calculations, and reporting
- Supporting responses to customer ESG/Sustainability surveys and questionnaires
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- One + years of professional experience in a Corporate environment
- One year of professional experience and/or coursework focused on ESG frameworks and reporting, corporate social responsibility, communications
- Knowledge of one or more ESG disclosure frameworks, including but not limited to: SASB, GRI, CDP, and TCFD.
- Exceptional written and oral communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or similar reporting, visualization, and analytical tools.
- Aptitude for interdisciplinary collaboration, with the ability to work within a team or autonomously, as needed.
- Proactivity and a passion for ESG and Sustainability
- Bachelor’s degree or above in sustainability, communications, business, architecture, engineering, environmental science, planning (or related field)
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Prior leadership in ESG disclosures and reports presentation
- Submissions for and coordination with ESG raters including ISS, MSCI, and S&P Global
- Sustainability and/or ESG-related professional credential(s)
- Experience using the GHG Protocol and or other carbon calculation/management tools and frameworks
- Experience with the development and delivery of training/educational materials, marketing and communications, and/or employee engagement
