Job Responsibilities:
Calculate repair estimates on incoming repair jobs; note repair versus replacement costs; communicate service options to appropriate customer service representatives
Assist in writing formal repair quotes for various job bids and requests for proposals
Obtain purchase order numbers from authorized purchasing agents or customer service representatives for estimate repair and/or replacement work and direct them to office support staff
Contact vendors to establish price and availability of replacement parts and/or repair items for estimate jobs only
Track and coordinate repair processes among departments to ensure timely completion of jobs and to assure customer satisfaction
Assist shop supervisor, planner and storeroom coordinator in a variety of related tasks, including but not limited to: processing pickup and delivery slips for repair work and processing items for shipping and receiving
Keep work area neat and clean as directed by management
Use company computer system appropriately in the course of performing work duties
Interact with operations management, shop supervisors and customer service representatives on matter related to job estimating
Perform all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or the Equivalent. A Certificate or Associates Degree in a mechanical or related field preferred.
Work Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in general mechanics, machine shop work, job estimating or other related experience
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work independently or as part of a team as applicable. Requires intermediate computer literacy. Requires oral and written skills to effectively communicate with co-workers, shop staff, supervisors, upper management and external customers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
