Estimator and Project Manager Job Description

Construction estimators use their expertise as well as the resources at their disposal to estimate the amount of money, time, materials, and labor required to complete a given construction project. Since construction estimators’ conclusions will directly influence a company’s decisions, it’s important that construction estimators have financial acumen and analytical skills. Construction estimators work in a standard office environment, although they also regularly visit construction sites. Construction Project Managers oversee Jeemco construction projects that have been secured by estimate or bid. These include Commercial, Residential, or Institutional projects. This position is involved from the early stages of development until the project is completed.

Estimator/Project Manager Responsibilities

· Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand

· Select metrics to produce valid estimates

· Investigate vendors, suppliers, and inventory to gather needed costing information.

· Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data

· Analyze data and produce forecasts

· Perform risk analysis

· Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties

· Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes

· Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.

  • Choose the types of tools to use in the construction and track the inventory of those tools.
  • Keep daily notes and monitor the status of each project.
  • Ensure that the construction project complies with all safety and building regulations.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the project to come up with the budget and deliverables.
  • Establish risk factors, then manage and mitigate them to ensure the construction goes on smoothly.
  • Work closely with Architects and Engineers to establish the requirements for the construction.
  • Liaise with local authorities to obtain licenses and permits for the project.
  • Prepare reports on the project.

Minimum Qualifications: 2 year degree or 3+ years in construction industry. Proficient in Microsoft Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
