Gulf Coast Community Ministries, a Christian community outreach organization, is searching for an Executive Director. The successful candidate will have a biblical Christian world view and will be responsible for basic administrative and programmatic functions. The Executive Director reports to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Schedule: Monday through Friday with the occasional need for flexibility during special events. Some special events may require a limited number of after hours and/or weekend scheduling.
Compensation: The wage for this position is $40,000 annually with the potential for performance based incentives in addition to annual salary.
Purpose: To manage day-to-day operations and programs of a small nonprofit organization which supports Christian ministry outreach programs, including homeless outreach, a food pantry, a clothing closet, a healthcare clinic and special events intended to raise funds for awareness of the organization’s ministries.
Essential Functions:
· Christian ministry is the foundation of this organization and the successful candidate must be willing and able to share the gospel and pray with the organization's staff, volunteers and ministry clients.
General administrative functions, including but not limited to basic bookkeeping tasks, financial reporting, office management, maintaining organizational files and documents, database management and budget management.
· Prepare for Board of Directors meetings by generating and printing agendas and related documents, sending meeting notices and reminders and preparing and distributing minutes.
· Communicate with Board of Directors to inform about programmatic and organizational needs, updates and information related to the organization’s services and other general information as needed.
· Volunteer, services and facility oversight and management; Maintain a safe, cost-effective, welcoming, clean and well-maintained environment.
· Grant seeking, writing and administration
· Serve as organization’s point of contact for clients, volunteers, local churches, donors and media; Represent the organization in public, including speaking at churches and community organizations as necessary.
· Maintain the organization’s website and social media presence to grow the organization’s presence in the community
· Assist with coordination of event logistics and fundraising
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· A biblical Christian world view and a willingness to share the gospel and pray with staff, volunteers and ministry clients
High school education or equivalent
· Minimum two years related experience; social work and/or nonprofit experience a plus.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheets, databases and word processing; Familiarity with Quickbooks a plus.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
· Ability to work with diverse populations; Leadership exemplified by compassion and service.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Interest in and commitment to the GCCM mission.
The successful candidate will be subject to a background check.
