Job description
We are looking for a Executive Director / Practice Administrator to oversee all aspects of our operation. To us, an Executive Director / Practice Administrator is the go-to person for all business-related issues. This means that your duties will involve activities such as strategic planning, financial planning, budgeting and profit and loss management, corporate governance, employee relations, patient relations, facilities management, marketing, information technology, risk management, and managing our Board of Directors. Priority Care Pediatrics was founded in 2004 and is now the largest, independent, single-specialty medical practice in the Kansas City metro. We are a busy practice with four locations, an active patient panel of about 30,000 who are cared for by our team of 20 board-certified pediatricians, 3 pediatric nurse practitioners, 4 mental health professionals, and about 100 employees. We were an early adopter of population health management principals and are a proud NCQA-accredited Patient Centered Medical Home. We are also a leader in our community in supporting the needs of all children and families and following evidence-based medicine. We are not affiliated with any hospital or health system; thriving as an independent, physician-led practice is our most central business objective.
General Job Function
The Executive Director / Practice Administrator must be dedicated to supporting the mission of Priority Care Pediatrics, LLC: “Building trusted relationships, encouraging healthy foundations and providing health care with compassion, connection and a commitment to excellence.” They have mastery in the areas of leadership, operations, financial management, and negotiation and contracting. They can build operational infrastructure to support current business and projected growth. They have a vision for sustained growth while offering the highest quality care to our patients. The Executive Director / Practice Administrator reports to the Executive Committee and leads the Practice’s Leadership Team. The Executive Director / Practice Administrator is the primary consultant to the Board of Directors and facilitates all Board activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for overseeing the general and financial operations of a 27-provider outpatient clinic with 100 employees, four sites, and an average of 20,000 patient encounters per year.
2. Responsible for developing and implementing the practice’s mission and strategic vision with guidance from the physician-led Board of Directors.
3. Champions and nurtures the existing collaborative, positive, humble, and fun-loving company culture.
4. Provide leadership in developing, planning and implementing the practice’s business plans.
5. Develops the Practice’s annual budget and strategic plan.
6. Recommends, develops, and implements improvements for the practice.
7. Informs the Board of Directors about current trends, problems and activities to facilitate major decision making. Acts as a facilitator for Board discussions.
8. Oversees efforts for recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of employees.
9. Oversees the business and financial affairs of the practice and fiscal management in conjunction with the practice CPA firm.
10. Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment while maintaining our high quality of patient care.
11. Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with employees to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthy atmosphere.
12. Manages Priority Care Properties, a real-estate holding company.
13. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree/MBA preferred. Graduate of an accredited university with a degree in Management or related field.
2. Five or more years directly related experience in management of a business.
3. Demonstrate ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting; competence in building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
4. Ability to navigate difficult conversations with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
5. Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork.
6. Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic planning.
7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
9. Compliance with the company’s employee vaccination policy including COVID-19 vaccination required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
