Overview: We are looking for a Purchasing Expediter to join our team and help us efficiently manage the procurement of materials and equipment needed for our HVAC and plumbing construction and service projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment, and tracking orders from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Review purchase orders and ensure that all information is accurate and complete
- Track orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and reorder materials as needed
- Communicate with project managers and field staff to identify and address any material or equipment needs
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and ensure that all purchases are made within budget
- Work with accounting team to resolve any invoicing or payment issues
- Research and identify new vendors to expand the company's supplier network
- Manage and resolve any quality or delivery issues with vendors
- Maintain, reconcile, and track vendor rebates monthly to ensure accurate reporting and maximum cost savings for the company.
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with purchasing software preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing materials and equipment preferred
