Job Title: Low Voltage Estimator

Company Overview: Powers IoT is an industry-leading provider of low voltage solutions, specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of advanced systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Estimator to join our growing team.

Position Overview: The Low Voltage Estimator is responsible for the accurate and timely estimation of project costs related to low voltage systems, including structured cabling, security, access control, audio-visual, and other related systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the ability to maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and identify potential opportunities and challenges.

Perform detailed takeoffs and material pricing to generate accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of low voltage systems.

Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure estimates align with project goals, timelines, and budgets.

Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings as needed to gather necessary information and establish relationships with clients, architects, and engineers.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends, product advancements, and applicable codes and standards to ensure estimates are current and relevant.

Utilize estimation software and tools to optimize accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.

Prepare and submit professional proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and project schedules.

Monitor and track bid results, analyze win/loss ratios, and make recommendations for improvements in the estimation process.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage estimation or a related field, such as project management, engineering, or installation.

Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, including structured cabling, security, access control, and audio-visual systems.

Proficiency in using estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam, ConEst, or similar programs.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics.

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, such as NEC, TIA/EIA, and BICSI.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits and meetings.

Education:

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Industry certifications, such as BICSI RCDD, PMP, or CTS, are considered a plus.
