We have an immediate opening for a Facilities Maintenance Building Manager for a governmental building in the Denver Metro and Greater Denver areas. This position offers the initial benefits of weekly and electronic pay and accrued sick leave but can go internal to offer a wide range of benefits to include, but not limited to: holiday & vacation pay, health/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings, and much more!

Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday with possible overtime as needed
Pay: $18.63 - $22.99 DOE

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of facility. Develops and promotes good community relations among community and clientele.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Survey the building and determine those needs which would require maintenance services, if possible, these required services should be reported to the maintenance shop before 7:00 am
  • Survey building to determine areas of neglect of the cleaning service on a daily basis
  • Survey the building to determine areas that can be identified as preventive maintenance and promptly perform service
  • The Building Manager will perform cleaning responsibilities as assigned by the Foreman, Designee, or Administrator.
  • Communicate with the contracted cleaning service personnel to identify problems and report problems to the Foreman and Building Administrator
  • Minor electrical work
  • Minor plumbing; unplugging sinks and drains where a “snake” can be used
  • Tile repair - floor and ceiling
  • Painting as required
  • Knowledgeable of fire alarm systems and security systems and knowledge of their operation. Checking of the systems on a weekly basis, and completing a log as required by the supervisor
  • Knowledge of the heating and ventilation systems and a maintenance ability sufficient to repair minor problems
  • Minor repairs of doors and lock work
  • Minor carpentry work
  • Snow removal and ice removal on steps and walks
  • Communicate with contract service on the activities of the building as well as the Foreman
  • Responsible for maintaining and ordering supplies for the entire building
  • Maintain grounds equipment and rake of pea gravel
  • Assist kitchen staff as requested
  • Responsible to delegate, or assume responsibility for, and conduct weekly fire alarm tests and annual 100% fire alarm test.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Custodial, housekeeping, or general maintenance experience.
  • Must have a valid Colorado drivers license
  • Must meet insurability requirements (Clean MVR).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Good motor skills, (hand tools and machinery used daily)
  • Lifting (50) lbs. at a time, daily moving of equipment, furniture and materials
  • Pushing and pulling
  • Repetitive motions, bending
  • Climbing stairs, ladders and vehicles
  • Squatting
  • Overhead work
  • Working at various vertical heights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Commercial driver's license is preferred.
  • Must meet insurability requirements (Clean MVR).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • Supervisor experience preferred ability to train employees and operate custodial equipment.
  • Criminal background checks are conducted upon hire.
