Job description
The Field Chemist will be responsible for Field Services operations, laboratory support, and day to day operational support. This includes but is not limited to offshore fieldwork, laboratory support (in collaboration with the hydrocarbon characterisation, analytical and environmental chemistry, and microbiology laboratory pillars), and onshore sampling.
The key focus of the role is to gain experience and knowledge in the aspects of sampling techniques, scientific analysis and data gathering for interpretation by either Intertek or client personnel. During the first 3 months for this role and prior to their first offshore mobilisation, the Field Chemist will be embedded and trained within an onshore laboratory pillar to gain the skills required to support analytical tasks.
You will simultaneously undergo dedicated field projects training, to develop the core skills required to support offshore sampling and analyses. This role benefits from wide and varied experiences giving insight into many of the operations undertaken on site and gives the opportunity to expand knowledge and skills.
Offsite working conditions typically are synonymous with a harsh North Sea environment. Due to workload and staff availability, a Field Chemist may be asked to carry out a task that would ideally be delegated to a more senior team member. In this situation, as much support as possible will be provided to aid the individual in carrying out the task.

- Expeditious submission of Intertek trip documentation such as timesheet(s), report(s) and feedback forms

- Maintain consistent communication with Outsourced Services Supervisors and Key Account Managers while performing rotation cover to ensure co-operation and to meet client expectations.
- Cooperate with laboratory team leaders within embedded pillar to support day to day operations and keep them informed to facilitate smooth transitions when mobilising offshore.
