Position Purpose:
As a member of our collaborative Facilities team, you will operate in a fast paced, hands-on environment where you perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks for the restaurants in an assigned area. Your primary focus is to ensure timely and cost-effective repair and maintenance of all types of food service equipment and appliances, HVAC/refrigeration equipment, as well as provide general repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repairs, maintains, or replaces a variety of food service equipment and appliances. Performs general electrical system and plumbing repairs in conjunction with prescheduled F.S. equipment.
- Ensures proper service levels are provided by outside vendors who conduct emergency or overload repairs on assigned restaurants.
- Requests, documents and submits repair/maintenance worksheets and purchase orders.
- Develops and scopes preliminary list of Repair & Maintenance and capital projects in conjunction with management.
- Conducts quarterly physical inventory of truck stock and sends report to Facilities.
- Manages vehicle maintenance and appearance to ensure it accurately reflects the EPL brand.
- For one week every 8-10 weeks, provides emergency service on a 24 hour, on-call basis through an answering service, and/or voice mail/beeper system.
- Ability to maintain a driving record capable of maintaining a Class C driver’s license.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job. The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
2+ years of experience as a technician repairing restaurant equipment, preferably with a multi-unit operator. Experience with power tools and work order software a must.
License/Certifications:
Type 2 EPA 608 Refrigeration certification or Universal Certification. We may consider applicants who are posited to obtain certification within 90 days. Valid CA driver’s license required.
The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria. Individual pay will vary based on a variety of factors including years of experience, industry experience, education, geography, etc.
