What does Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) do?
SI&T integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers

The Mission Capability Verification Center within the SI&T directorate, at White Sands, New Mexico is seeking a Field Engineer to join the Sensors & BMC3I team to support the THAAD radar system in various locations both domestic and international supplementing the US Military team supporting the system.
This engineer will join a team that is supporting an active radar system Integration and Test site on White Sands Missile Range. As part of the team, this engineer will work with local radar system leads to troubleshoot and solve system related problem, coordinating with Raytheon Technologies team and/or White Sands Missile Range to identify, diagnose and correct related issues.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Perform software installation, test and validation, system interface, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and verification to ensure an operational radar and system software performance.
- Operate and maintain the system, providing immediate resolution of system problems/failures that occur during operations.
- Assist with data compilation and analysis, test setup and execution of all special tests and related data collection activities.
- Support in the development of special test scripts and test requirements.
- Provide system operations support with diagnostics and analysis of diagnostic results.
- Provide software and operations support in analog and digital simulations, live operations, system performance checks, and other system specifics as requested.
- Support a diverse team, internal/external customers and military personnel with technical system requirements.
- Deploy domestically and internationally with the system for extended periods with little notice.
- Accept additional assignments to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements.
- Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to environmental hazards, energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, unexploded ordnance.
- High possibility of being recalled to the site due to system failure (downing event) any time of the day or night.
This role is ONSITE. Domestic and International travel is required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in field engineering experience with the AN/TPY-2 system, which includes: operations and maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/replace actions on faulted equipment
- Experience with UNIX based OS platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, LINUX etc.)
- CompTIA Security + certification must be current
- An active and transferrable US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US Citizenship is required, as only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
- Experience with Radar hardware/software concepts, RF systems, troubleshooting, and reading/utilizing hardware schematics.
- Experience in maintaining and providing engineering assessment and corrective actions on faulted equipment, and installation and testing of engineering modifications/updates.
- Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
- Experience in analog/digital hardware design.
- Teaming skills, multi-task, work under stress, support across multiple disciplines.
- Familiarity with Network equipment configuration/setup (routers switches etc)

This position is located at White Sands Missile Range. The majority of the supporting workforce live in the surrounding cities of Alamogordo, NM, Las Cruces, NM or El Paso, TX. One of the unique features of this area is being centrally located in summer to (skiing, boating) and winter (skiing, snowboarding) activities.
