In consultation with Chief of Innovation and Technology and Chief Deputy of Innovation and Technology, this position is responsible for constructing and assuring effective execution of the $112 million biennial operating budgets. In addition to the following key components of this work:
- Oversight responsibility for ensuring revenue generation and cash flow are adequate to support and sustain program expenditures. This often involves analysis of complex, financing structures where there are few precedents and fluctuating factors for forecasting.
- Coordinates preparation of budget related legislative policy and maintenance level requests.
- Oversees, through on-going interaction, the budget development, implementation, and maintenance, including FTE usage.
- Oversees the fiscal note process for the assigned offices, with delegated final approval authority from and answers questions from internal stakeholders such as the Chief of Innovation and Technology and external stakeholders.

This position is included in the Washington Management Service.
The duty station for this hybrid position is in Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. The incumbent will work with their supervisor to establish a work schedule to include telework and reporting to the Tumwater duty station for work activities as needed. Attendance to the Tumwater office will be occasional and infrequent.

This position provides financial leadership and budget management for seven central services offices. It reports to the Director of Program Financial Management within the Office of Financial Services.

The DESIRED Candidate Profile
NOTE: All relevant experience including lived, volunteer, or professional, or a combination of experience and education that demonstrate the ability to perform the work will be considered.
Option 1: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; AND, two (2) or more years of professional experience in business accounting, budget or related field. Experience should include leading the financial aspects of an organization, FTE management, financial reporting, account maintenance and reconciliation, budget development and maintenance, revenue forecasting, chart of accounts development, and providing financial consultation.
OR
Option 2: Six (6) or more years of professional experience in business accounting, budget or related field. Experience should include leading the financial aspects of an organization, FTE management, financial reporting, account maintenance and reconciliation, budget development and maintenance, revenue forecasting, chart of accounts development, and providing financial consultation.
AND
Two (2) or more years of management/leadership experience, to include all aspects of workforce and performance development and direct supervision.
