The Financial Aid Advisor primary duties include:

  • Providing advice about available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process to students and parents.
  • Responsible for performing Return to Title IV Funds calculations, Return to Lender calculations, Tuition Assistance Calculations, etc.
  • Have a great personality, great with people, able to work in a fun and exciting environment.
  • Responsible for calculating Pell Grant awards, reconciling Mass Grants and Veterans Grants, and any other grants accepted by our institution. Recalculation, Originating/Certifying Loans, Disbursements (G5) and Reconciliations of any loans.
  • Generate and analyze system-generated data such as grades and enrollment status or award status to verify continued compliance and eligibility of students receiving aid under federal, state and institutional guidelines; notifies Program Director and students of changes in eligibility of awards and alternatives to amend the situation.
  • Troubleshoot processing problems and technical issues with regard to the COD system and Colleague software. Applies corrective action. Consults with the appropriate resources when necessary, such as processing support teams.
  • Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect student information and resolve through communication. Apply corrective action.
  • Sending all electronic financial aid notifications to Director, Owner, and accountant
  • Monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress and direct loan processing.
  • Assist the Director with any reports, processes, as needed.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and dressing for success are essential functions of this role.
  • Other duties, responsibilities or activities may be assigned at any time.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of professional experience is required.
  • Processing and Financial Aid environment, and an understanding of all aspects and application of Title IV Federal Financial Aid regulations.
