Job description
This position provides analytical support to finance, accounting, and operational management. This includes participating in the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as, designing and preparing management reports, analyzing operating results and communicating results of analysis divisional management. This position interfaces with clinical management teams. The incumbent must understand Company business strategies and issues and be able to utilize and modify financial models in support of Company initiatives.
- Position: Financial Analyst (Revenue)
- Location: Hybrid (Evanston, IL/Remote)
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours
- Participate in the preparation of the Annual Budget and on-going forecasts
- Active participation in development of net patient service revenue (NPSR) budgets/forecasts
- Create, edit and issue budget reports
- Assist in the development and validation of budget and forecasting tools which facilitate collection and consolidation of budgets across the system
- Financial Analysis
- Prepare and issue monthly analysis of operating results with minimal supervision
- Develop routine and ad hoc reports for senior management
- Requires ability to learn and manipulate data in our reporting tools
- Provide in-depth financial analyses to support business decisions and continuous improvement projects
- Month End Close
- Assist in the month end close process
- Prepare analysis and journal entries related to contractual, bad debt, charity, and other NPSR reserves
- Prepare analysis and journal entries related to third party liabilities
- Miscellaneous Surveys and Special Analyses/Projects
- Prepare surveys and questionnaires as assigned (i.e. AHA Annual survey, IDPH Annual Questionnaires, various U.S. Census surveys) with manager supervision
- Perform account reconciliations
- Assist with cost report preparation and audits, as needed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
- Experience:
- 1+ years of accounting and/or planning and analysis experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts as they relate to the profit and loss and balance sheet statements and the relationships between them
- Healthcare knowledge/exposure, preferred
- Skills:
- Exceptional precision and accuracy with financial models and analysis
- Exceptional data management and analysis skills
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
- Strong ability to learn new systems and tools
