DESCRIPTION
The Fiscal Assistant I position is a dynamic and critical position to regional operations with multi-functional responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience.
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience provided such education includes two courses in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Vocational/technical training in bookkeeping or accounting can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprints) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
This position requires 1-25% travel.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a procurement facilitator/purchasing assistant and performs other administrative support duties in the North Central Region’s Service Center.
- Procurement facilitator/purchasing assistant duties include reviewing and entering purchase order requisitions into My Florida Market Place (MFMP) and processing invoices for payment for all Divisions/Offices.
- Assists with or obtains required vendor quotes when requested.
- Research state contracts and negotiates regional office contracts.
- Check vendors to assure they are registered with the State of Florida.
- Answers questions regarding purchasing policies and procedures.
- Assists staff as requested with required purchasing paperwork and/or documentation.
- Responsible for processing regional utility invoices for payment and entering data in the State Energy Management Plan (SEMP).
- Assists Regional Business Manager with invitations to bid (ITBs) pre-bid conferences.
- Orders supplies for Regional Operations and Regional Office and enters purchasing card (p-card) purchases into the state’s P-Card WORKS system.
- Assists Regional Business Manager with budget reports as needed.
- Administrative support duties include assisting various staff members with projects as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent is required to have a valid Florida Driver’s License. Travel is required.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.

When appropriate, employees will explain the reasons for agency actions or decisions while communicating a consistent Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) point-of-view.
Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.
Work at FWC is cross-functional meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.
