About the Role:

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles, which is part of a new program being developed by Wabash. This position requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures. The role is also responsible for leading a team, setting performance objectives, and ensuring they are met. This project is expected to grow in functionality as customer demand and needs evolve over time, so candidates should expect a fast-paced, start-up environment with an emphasis on discovering new business.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure optimal fleet performance, reliability, and longevity
  • Document procedures, data analysis methods, KPI's and best practices to enable best in class fleet operations
  • Schedule and prioritize repairs and maintenance work, ensuring that vehicles are available for use when needed
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and costs incurred
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as operations and procurement, to ensure that the fleet is meeting the company's needs
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices, continually improving the company's maintenance and repair processes
  • Develop and manage a budget for fleet maintenance and repairs, ensuring that expenses are kept within budgetary constraints
  • Provide leadership and direction while building a strong-identity team that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve a common goal.

Requirements:

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred Major: Engineering, Finance or other technical or business major)
  • 10+ years of experience in fleet operations and maintenance management, transportation and / or logistics, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience in a commercial vehicle dealership preferred
  • Proficiency in operational level financial management, decision making and change management
  • Experience with SaaS based Fleet Maintenance Management platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, telematics and fleet management software
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Ability to deal with challenging internal and external customers in a manner that shows assertiveness, professionalism, sensitivity, and tact
  • Proven ability to develop strong, long-term external and internal relationships with employees and key accounts
