As a Floater Teller/New Account Representative with First State Bank & Trust Company you will be responsible for providing customers with prompt, efficient and accurate customer service while representing the Bank in a courteous, professional manner. This position will also serve as a back-up to New Accounts as needed, performing a variety of customer service. This includes opening new checking, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts, closing deposit accounts, answering questions from existing and prospective customers, and answering and transferring calls. Work is varied in nature with changing priorities. This position is full-time with an expectation to work 40 hours per week and every other Saturday.

Reliable transportation is required. You will travel to any of the First State Bank & Trust locations. You will predominately travel between our Parkview Office, Downtown Office, Main Office, and our Walmart Office. You will occasionally travel between our Arlington Office and Blair Office. You will relieve tellers who are absent in whatever capacity at the location needed and work the hours of that location. This position requires extensive knowledge of all teller operations and flexibility in the performance of teller duties. Exercise independent judgement in some instances under limited supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Provides outstanding customer service.
  • Open and maintain a cash drawer.
  • Provides a complete range of customer services, including receiving deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and issuing receipts, installment loan payments, making withdrawals, cashing checks, scanning work and providing customer account printouts independently, efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepares cashier’s checks, money order’s, gift cards as requested.
  • Balances transactions at the end of the day and verifies cash totals.
  • Promotes Bank products and services, including opening new accounts, explaining available products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
  • Stays abreast of all campaigns and promotions.
  • Assists customers with their day-to-day financial needs.
  • Opens and closes office by following established security procedures.
  • Completes duties as assigned to the Branch.
  • And other miscellaneous duties as needed.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service and money handling experience preferred, but willing to train successful candidates.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
