In this role, you will assist CentraCare in maintaining our floors at Saint Cloud Hospital, along with three of our other locations in Long Prairie, Sauk Centre & Melrose hospitals. If you enjoy variety in your work week, this is the right landing spot for you! Transportation hours are paid. You will rotate most weeks between the four locations. You will be conducting routine floor care work, stripping and waxing, carpets, machine scrubbing etc., so experience in this field is going to be highly preferred.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone that has knowledge and experience working floors and doesn't want to be bogged down at the same place, working the same floors day after day. The ability to work between 4 locations will provide that extra challenge or excitement to the typical work week.

Hours:

Full-Time | 80 hours every two weeks | Shift times will vary | Every other weekend and holidays as needed.

The hours are going to be flexible , typically larger jobs are done in the evenings while other functions may be handled during business hours.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Starting pay $16.48 per hour and up depending on experience. For example, 10 years of Floors experience would pay north of $18/hour.

Job Summary: The Floor Services Associate maintains and cleans hospital areas to assure the complex building areas are in an orderly and sanitary conditions at Saint Cloud, Long Prairie, Sauk Centre, and Melrose hospitals.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of the hospital building, such as regular daily cleaning of public and patient areas. Must be flexible and knowledgeable of all room types and perform duties as assigned to ensure all areas are cleaned. Cleaning will include, but not limited to wall surfaces, windows (inside and out), coving (baseboards), doors, complete stripping and refinishing of floors, carpet care, lights, all heat and air units, sky lights and furniture cleaning and other room fixtures.
• Must be flexible and knowledgeable of all room types and perform duties as assigned to ensure all areas are cleaned.
• Is responsible for operating and maintaining machines and equipment such as: vacuum, scrubbers, carpet sweeper, wet vac, cardboard baler, and compactor. Is responsible for various floor surfaces (hard surface and carpeted areas) in routine and restorative floor care. Is responsible for routine cleaning maintenance of all floor equipment.
• Stripping and waxing floors (will train)
• Is responsible for gathering and disposing of waste.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

• One to two years custodial and/or janitorial operation experience with emphasis on floor care preferred. Knowledge of floor care equipment, accessories, and processes needed to accomplish floor care tasks.

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write simple task requests and reports and communicate well with others required.
  

Professional References, Background Check:

• The State of MN will require passing a background check, along with at least two professional references as this position will spend some time in our Long-Term Care facilities.
