Location: Miramar, FL
Pay Rate: $16 to $16.50
Working hours: M-F 7:30am - 4:30pm (must be flexible)
Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for moving, handling, and storing different materials within the manufacturing facility. Will track the stock within the plant, record orders, and store the company’s merchandise. Will be responsible for loading and unloading inventory, supplies, and other packages from various locations, like storage and production areas, delivery trucks, and loading docks. The Material Handler will check their files and records to make sure all the incoming deliveries follow what’s written in their purchase orders. Will store cargo in assigned locations, using materials like pallets and cargo boards and produce written logs of the total number of units/materials, and other inventory moved from one location to the next, keeping track of each item being moved or transported to another location.
Position Requirements:
- Comply with all safety rules and guidelines
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Operate forklift/side loader to move raw material
- Move materials from storage or worksites to designated areas
- Perform and report cycle counts
- Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the factory/on the shelves to maintain inventory
- Stack or assemble materials into floor stocking locations
- Stage and load truck/trailers with pallets
- Schedule waste removal
- Remove empty pallets and scrap metal containers from production floor
- Perform janitorial functions to maintain a clean and safe work area
- Previous similar work experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Good level of interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with others
- General knowledge and understanding of materials handling as it relates to cGMP production environments.
