Job description

Role Objective:

The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift and assist in other warehouse duties.
• Meet all quality standards, production standards, safety /housekeeping policies.
• Meet the Company’s Attendance Policy.
• Able to follow instructions.

Essential Functions:

• Load and unload pallets and individual cases to and from trailers, as well as collect empty pallet board and carry them to storage.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Pick appropriate cases according to order using required technology
• Identify damages, report shortages, report quality deficiencies
• Inspect machinery and determine if need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
• Safely operate a forklift after training and certification
• Load trailers via carts or stack cases on the floor of a truck trailer
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
• General housekeeping and specific sanitation tasks as required (e.g. you may be asked to sweep the floor, help clean a trailer, take out the trash, etc.)

Physical demands/requirements:

• Good physical condition able to lift objects that weigh anywhere between 15 to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Work with equipment that causes whole body vibration.
• Sometimes must get into awkward positions to reach cramped workspaces.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to operate machinery in an 8 to 10-hour day.

Work Environment/Conditions:

• Frequently exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures, depending on time of year.
• Regularly exposed to loud sounds that are usually heard in a busy manufacturing plant.
• Machine noise during shift, but under OSHA conservation standard.
• Must wear proper PPE such as safety glasses and steel toe shoes.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED recommended but not necessary.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
