Monday - Thursday - 4:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The general responsibilities include the ability to operate a “Sit-Down Front Fork” Lift Truck in a Safe and Efficient Manner in close proximity to personnel and equipment. Must be able to move pallets and racks of material and parts in a predetermined manner to assist the Department Supervisor/Team Leader and Production Associates in the orderly and efficient daily process of fabricating, anodizing, and assembling quality parts to meet our customer’s delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Using Lift Truck, Pallet Jacks, and other material handling equipment, move parts and material within the manufacturing area.

· Move Freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles by hand or using trucks or other equipment.

· Deliver or route materials to departments using sorting bins, conveyor, hand truck or forklift.

· Using Shop Routers, Production Schedules, Work Instructions, Other Documents, and Oral Instructions, determine the most efficient method of movement of parts and material.

· Supply Production Associates with all material, supplies and packaging material to perform work responsibilities so that production associates are not required to “Wait For Work.”

· Assist the Department Supervisor/Team Leader in the Preparation, Labeling, and Loading of Finished Product.

· Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, packing slips, packing lists, shipping orders and/or bills of lading to verify accuracy.

· Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting or record keeping purposes.

· Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.

· Identify information and/or materials by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities and detecting changes.

· Pack, seal, and/or label materials for shipping using hand and/or power tools.

· Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

· Sort cargo before loading and unloading.

· Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and yearly inventory when requested.

· Ability to start and complete “Cycle Counts” according to PLEX procedures.

· Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.

· Ability to Use Banding Tensioner, Power Saw, Air Nailer, and other Hand Tools.

· Assist Production Associates in the lay-out and set-up of their work area

· Assist Supervisor/Team Leader and Associates in keeping all work areas are in a safe, clean and organized manner.

· Responsible for Pre-Operation Inspection of Lift Equipment, including completion of “Daily Checklist.”

· Perform Routine Maintenance on Lift Truck Equipment.

· Any additional duties as determined by the Department Supervisor/Team Leader.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping/Receiving Material Handlers are responsible for the daily organization and housekeeping of the Shipping/Receiving Department.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· Six months experience in the operation of a “Sit-Down, Front-Fork, Lift Truck” in a Manufacturing Environment.

· Previous experience using Pallet jacks and/or Pallet transport trucks

· Previous experience using “Handheld bar code scanners” desired

· Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and/or other computer data entry software

· Ability to Read and Follow Written Instructions.

· Basic Math Skills to include Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide

· Ability to Pass O-Flex Metal Finishing’s Lift Truck Training Class and Driving Test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent Vision. Exerting up to 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-50 lbs. of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 100 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving you whole body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials and manipulating things. Physical demand requirements are in excess for sedentary work.
