AECOM is looking to recruit a Framework Manager as a key part of our Water Utilities team to support a strategic client account in the Midlands / Northern region of England. The role is crucial to delivering the objectives of our water business, where significant opportunities for both account and client relationship growth exist.
You will lead the AECOM approach and collaborative engagement with our client, managing a design and professional services framework to realise consistently excellent client service, project delivery metrics and service growth. As an integral part of our network of framework and account managers across the UK and Ireland, the role also offers a great springboard for future career development within AECOM both nationally and globally.

The Team
Our Water team has delivered some of the most high-profile projects across the UK, so your projects and clients will be varied and interesting. Examples of our current projects and clients:
- Severn Trent Water – AECOM deliver a range of design services across Engineering and Environment workstreams. We are currently supporting Severn Trent with Green Recovery projects including the flagship Mansfield SuDS scheme and a number of wastewater treatment schemes to improve water quality.
- Wessex Water – AECOM are a design partner on several AMP7 frameworks, including the Capital Delivery framework. We deliver design services for major projects and programmes of work, including our innovative digital approach for the upgrade of Durleigh Water Treatment Centre in Bridgwater.
- Welsh Water – AECOM are primary supplier on the Strategic Asset Management Framework and sole supplier on the NEC Site Supervisor Framework. Our work covers a breadth of services across the asset base and delivery programme.
- Thames Water – AECOM has positions across all scales of delivery including major projects such as Thames Tideway Tunnel, Deephams STW upgrade and ‘Capital Delivery’ infra and non-infra schemes across the Thames region.
The Role
- Managing the wider corporate relationship and drive business with the client (both new business growth and maintaining existing workloads). This means representing the full spectrum of AECOM services and geographies, not just those of a particular operational business unit.
- Support the development of the client account plan, which captures key information about the client and our strategy to expand and retain our relationship.
- Act as the Framework interface between AECOM and the client, ensuring we deliver to agreed metrics including safety, programme, cost, innovation, quality.
- Identify upcoming water and wastewater pursuits with the client that are consistent with AECOM’s water business line strategy and work with internal teams to position AECOM for such pursuits.
- Working with colleagues, identify areas for team growth (capacity and capability) and develop the team both through progression of internal staff and recruitment.
- Lead proposal development process and work with bid and delivery teams in developing win strategies and technical and commercial proposals.
- Participate in Go-No-Go decision making process, working with the overall account manager, market sector and business unit leads.
- Project manage and / or direct project delivery teams on water and wastewater schemes.
- Understand AECOM’s commercial and contractual obligations to clients.
- Meet with client staff from multiple levels of the client’s organisation to obtain feedback on AECOM’s performance and identify opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams ensuring adequate support is provided in meeting client’s needs.
- Monitor client satisfaction on the framework and address performance issues.
Required/Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in forming strong relationships and mutual trust with a range of stakeholders within client organisations.
- Experience in managing water and wastewater projects, programmes of work.
- Experience in technical and commercial bid development and delivery of water industry schemes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisation skills.
- A degree or equivalent in a related subject (e.g. engineering, environment etc.) and/or a project management background.
- Membership of a relevant professional chartered institute; for example, ICE or CIWEM
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience of delivery of professional services in the water industry across a range of areas – Asset Management, Engineering, Environment, Programme/Project Management
- Water and wastewater networks and treatment project experience across feasibility, outline, detailed design, construction support
- Project Management qualifications e.g APM/PMP
- Contractual skills and experience, e.g. NEC
- Industry recognised Health and Safety qualification
