PTR Baler and Compactor is seeking a Freight Coordinator to join the Sales Department team due to growth.

PTR Baler and Compactor is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. PTR helps companies achieve their green initiatives by reducing waste streams and increasing recycling efforts. The company manufactures and services balers, compactors and provides parts and resources to customers.

The Freight Coordinator’s primary role is to manage the logistical processing of outbound shipments of customer’s new equipment in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange transportation of goods.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, such as bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Create spreadsheets and update proprietary software with notes, ETA, and memos.
  • Determine efficient and effective ways of moving goods from one location to another, including shipping methods, routes, possible consolidation, and rates for goods to be shipped.
  • Work with internal and external customers providing shipping updates.
  • Work within the Sales Department and provide customer service support.

Requirements:

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • 2 years of shipping or logistics experience.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Previous manufacturing/shipping experience with large commercial equipment utilizing flatbeds.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work.
  • Advanced time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to understand the manufacturing life cycle such as production timelines.

  • Logistics: 2 years (Required)
  • Flatbed: 1 year (Required)
  • Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
