Shou Sugi Ban House, is comprised of a thirteen-room destination spa and retreat, a private luxury residence, and a traditional bed and breakfast; it embodies global wellness and healing arts practices for guests in pursuit of integrative wellness featuring holistic living, nutrition, hydrotherapy, yoga, meditation and movement. The only comprehensive wellness program in the Hamptons, Shou Sugi Ban House is located on over five acres, just ninety miles outside of New York City.
Retreat Hosts at Shou Sugi Ban House must be organized individuals with excellent people skills. Hosts are responsible for providing concierge-style services to guests and undertaking various administrative duties to coordinate with other departments on property, among other duties.
A successful Retreat Host will have tremendous patience when dealing with guests and accommodate their every need with enthusiasm and poise. Hosts must anticipate the needs of guests before they even make a request in addition to seeking solutions to any and all complications that could arise.
Despite any external stressors, always maintain a calm energy; as the Host you will be a consistent presence that the guests should feel comfortable with. Due to your location, you are always customer facing and your demeanor should reflect that.
Job Requirements
- Coordinate in advance of the guest's arrival with the Reservations Team to confirm any and all special instructions and previous conversations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the arrivals manifest and on-property guest schedules
- Make contact with all incoming guests via the Host Phone; advising guests of pertinent information including but not limited to the gate code.
- Greet guests upon arrival and make them feel welcome and comfortable
- Provide guests with their schedules and answer any questions they may have about their program
- Offer information on additional offerings not included in their schedules.
- Offer guests a tour of the facilities, pointing out any important details such as guest entrance/exit
- Confirm with guest any transportation needs that we might need to coordinate
- Administer check-ins and check-outs on the property management system, including processing guest payment at the end of their stay
- Maintain complete knowledge of Shou Sugi Ban House offerings to be able to engage and book additional services for guests.
- Provide assistance in the Main Barn for guests who are seeking to change, add or cancel any items on their itinerary and assist with retail sales; work in conjunction with the Reservation Team

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
