The Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County provides academic support, sports, arts, S.T.E.M., career readiness, and leadership programs through before and after-school programs and day camps at its three site locations in Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, and the surrounding communities. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County is to inspire, enable, and support all youth to realize their full potential as successful, responsible, and impactful members of the community.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide effective and positive customer service as a representative of the Club. Make current and accurate information on the Club programs available to members, parents, and visitors. Responsible for the daily maintenance of a well-organized front counter/reception area; collect and input data for new and renewed memberships; maintain accurate records and the collection of membership dues and/or fees; ensure daily and accurate input of all information into membership tracking program. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The Membership Clerk understands and implements the mission and core values of the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

Customer Service

1. Provide effective and positive customer service by responding timely to parent and staff requests.

2. Completes requests by greeting visitors warmly, in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.

  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

4. Returns all phone messages and emails in a timely manner.

Data Entry and Accounting

1. Maintain accurate membership and attendance records.

2. Ensure daily and accurate input of all information into membership tracking program.

3. Receipts are to be completed at the time that payment is collected.

4. Deposits must be prepared regularly.

5. All paperwork must be reconciled following the organizations procedures.

6. Knowledge of NSF check procedure.

Safety and Facilities

1. Ensure the wellness and safety of all members by following the guidelines set forth by the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest County.

2. Ensures that any adults entering the facility is authorized to pick-up youth, by verifying their identification.

3. Ensure the first-class appearance and safety of front desk/reception area.

4. Ensure keys are always secured.

5. Complete the Child Safety trainings on Spillett Leadership University within thirty days of hire.

Professional Development

1. Complete the School of Youth Development on Spillett Leadership University within six months of hire.

2. Participate in staff meetings and trainings as assigned.

Other

1. Must be available Monday through Friday during regular program hours, 1:00pm-6:30pm

2. Regular and predictable attendance is expected.

3. CPR & First Aid certified.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Two -year degree in psychology, social work, education, sociology, or a related field preferred. High school degree required.

· Experience working with young people in a group setting (internships, student teaching and volunteer work may be acceptable)

· Establish positive and productive working relationships; able to generate trust, ability, and willingness to give and receive honest, balanced feedback. Demonstrates competence and character that inspires trust.

· Good judgment, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style, High integrity, tact, a positive attitude

· Experience with Microsoft Office and Google suite.

· Successful results of pre-employment background check and drug screen

· Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.

· Ability to get along with diverse personalities while displaying tact, maturity, and flexibility.

· California Class C driver’s license

· CPR and First Aid certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Sitting: Very Frequent. Surfaces include chairs, benches, grass, ground, metal, wood, concrete, plastic.

· Talking/projecting voice: Very frequent. Speaks in normal conversational tones in person and on telephone. Also has ability to project voice in noisy and/or large areas.

· Hearing: Hears normal conversation

· Vision: Read written lists, notices, etc. Able to visually supervise groups of children.

· Walking: Very frequent. Walking surfaces include asphalt, concrete, wood, carpet, tile, hiking trails.

· Lifting: Frequent. 10-20 lbs.- moving boxes of supplies and equipment.

· Stooping: Frequent.

· Climbing: Frequent. In and out of Club vehicles, up and down stairs.

· Running: During special events with children, playing or referee games.
