As a Registered Nurse – Primary Therapist, your compassionate, patient focused care and demonstrated knowledge of pharmacotherapy treatment and assessment permits patients to be administered psychotropic medications, allowing them the highest quality of life.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Outpatient Mental Health - Genesee Mental Health Center

DEPARTMENT: Mental Health

SCHEDULE: Day

ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
  • Strong analytical, computer and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluation & Planning. Assess patient’s current mental status and ability to follow medical recommendations; formulate a comprehensive treatment plan integrating comprehensive information from the client, chart and other appropriate sources and evaluate intervention of prescribed psychotropic medications; monitor patient’s response to psychotropic medications; develop discharge criteria for termination of the patient from treatment
  • Patient Care. Provide psychotropic medication education and materials to patient and family members; collaborate with patient and others to review objectives and outcomes of care; engage in therapeutic relationships that focus on patient’s needs and provide a structured process for patient to reach objectives outlined in the treatment plan
  • Documentation. Accurately document data obtained from psychotropic needs assessment of patient and of collaborations with primary care providers, psychiatrists and other health team members; document all treatment contacts accurately and in accordance with BHN policy
