POSITION: RECEPTIONIST – FULL TIME
SUMMARY: Connecticut Baptist Homes and Housing, located in Meriden, CT is a not-for-profit community providing nursing care and retirement living services. We are seeking the right candidate to fill our full time Receptionist position who is responsible for creating a warm, responsive interaction between the community and customers, meeting specific administrative needs of residents and families, and providing the full range of administrative support to our managers. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to the constant interaction with residents and families to guarantee their satisfaction.

DUTIES
As the Receptionist, you are the first impression of our community. In addition to greeting families and guests, you are responsible for:
- Answers incoming calls, both internally and externally, in a warm, pleasant and professional manner
- Ensures that all messages are relayed promptly to the intended person
- Maintains current visitor log
- Greets all visitors, residents, family members and associates in a warm and inviting manner on the phone
· Receives messages, packages, flowers and other items; notifies appropriate staff. Arranges for the delivery of items to residents and appropriate personnel
· Handles emergencies, following established policies and procedures, notifies and directs appropriate personnel and follows all established security procedures
· Assists with clerical work projects, i.e., mail sorting, labeling, folding, and stuffing of envelopes, etc.
- Monitors compliance with COVID screening protocols for all visitors,
- Assists in our social media efforts by posting updates on our sites as directed
- Updates information on varied lists and spreadsheets as it changes and ensures updated information is distributed to all appropriate locations. Maintain required data base mailing lists, email lists, etc.
- Inputs all maintenance work orders received into the project management system
- Possess and maintain knowledge of the community, its benefits, service provided, the residents and associates
- Be able to assist Marketing with inquiries when necessary
- Assists Business Office Manager with administrative support as needed including, but not limited to:
- Petty Cash Maintenance and Reconciliation
- Resident Trust Maintenance and Reconciliation
- Social Accountability Fundraisers
· Coordinates appointments for residents requesting transportation, hairdressing, or other services – keeping accurate records pertaining to resident charges for such services
- Performs community mail duties such as receiving and sending packages
- Assists with preparing community brochure packets when necessary and keeps an ample supply at the reception area
- Assist the Administrator and/or other departments with additional administrative duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Medical Office or Nursing Home a plus
COVID Vaccination is a condition of employment
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to handle multiple demands; Ability to communicate effectively; Ability to utilize Microsoft software to carryout position responsibilities; professional appearance and demeanor.
