About Us:

Vintage Prairie Farm is a chef-driven collaboration between some of Chicago’s finest restaurants and a team of mindful farmers.

The Farm is operated by the principles of biodiversity, ecological balance, compost fertilization, all natural pest control, sustainability, and healthy soil life.

We are committed to growing heirloom varietals that represent the true colors and flavors of ancient vegetables as nature intended. These varietals are more difficult to grow and less prolific than the standard mass produced, mono-cropped, and GMO vegetables. The extra effort to source the seeds, cultivate the land, and nurture these plants is evident in the taste, texture, color, and nutrition of VPF produce.

Duties:

This position will mostly be for landscaping our 20 acre property, but will entail some other skilled maintenance jobs as well. Job duties will be mowing, weed whacking, weeding, light maintenance, as well as general labor, as needed, on the farm.

Maintenance duties will include: minor repair of structures/tools, keeping tools well oiled and in good working order, cleaning structures/tools, and other odd repairs that are needed around the farm.

Skills:

Prefer experience with: mowing, weed whacking, tree/perennial pruning, hand tools, power tools.

Prefer knowledge in: turf/landscaping, minor repairs/troubleshooting repairs, general tool safety, and pest management

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
