Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Tend to metal fabricating machines such as, cut-off saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, sizers, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce parts as directed.
- Prepare and inspect parts for final production.
- Run first time production parts as directed and perform Poka Yokes.
- Rotate positions within each cell for cross training
- Use job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated
- Position workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blades.
- Detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- Monitor the output of quality parts through inspection, scrap records, statistical process controls, and station control sheets.
- Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale
- Perform 5S activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Standing for long periods of time.
- Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

- Must be prompt in reaching assigned cell at the start of shift and at the end of each break.

Qualifications:
- Read and understand work instructions.
- Adhere to safety rules.
- Strong reading and writing skills in English.
- Basic math skills.
- Work within a team environment.
- Possess the ability to work with hand tools.
- No minimum level of education needed
