Harrison Western was founded in 1968 and has provided superior design and construction services to the mining, tunneling and civil construction fields industries for over 50 years. Harrison Western has also experienced significant growth in our Geotechnical Construction division that performs projects including landslide repair, soil nails, shotcrete, micropiles, ground anchors, specialty grouting etc.


We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical construction Project Manager to join our team. Project Managers lead the assigned team through all phases of the project from initial acquisition through pre-construction, execution, and close-out. Our Project Managers are typically assigned one to three projects at a time and have overall responsibility for the projects’ success, including establishing and meeting schedule deadlines, financial management of the project, subcontractor management, job costing, change orders, pay applications, etc. Project Managers work closely with the Project Engineer and Superintendents to manage schedule, performance, quality control, testing, coordination, safety and inspections.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide leadership throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results with oversight of safety and cost performance.
  • Overall responsibility of P/L for assigned projects.
  • Mentor and train project team
  • Ability to follow established processes and suggest new processes to improve overall key performance.
  • Lead project estimate review and hand-off, start-up, monthly interim, and close-out meetings
  • Facilitate collaborative team processes among project participants including architects, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Review project plans for constructability and cost feasibility; assist with project risk assessments and prepare scope of work matrices.
  • Review/prepare submittals as needed in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze and manage project progress, costs, budgets, and cash flows.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining Engineering or closely related field
  • At least 2 years of related experience managing construction projects.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical construction involving techniques such as micropiles, soil nails, ground anchors, shotcrete, etc.
  • Proficiency with scheduling using Microsoft Project or Primavera, spreadsheets, cost control, and project management software.
  • Experience with Bid to Win (B2W) software preferred.
  • Solid understanding of value engineering, life cycle costing, and project profit/cost processes
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in driving accountability for financial and operational effectiveness, integrating and aligning efforts within teams, monitoring results, and tackling problems directly.
  • Ability to work within a complex business as an active participant in driving safety, quality, schedule and cost performance, demonstrated effectiveness in driving operations and executing plans.
  • Developed written, oral, and listening skills in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Ability to travel extensively to jobsites throughout the United States
  • Background and drug screening

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range of $90,000 to $110,000 DOE
