Pocono Palace Resort is hiring a Dedicated and Attentive Gift Shop Attendant at the 188-room resort located in East Stroudsburg, PA. Candidates should have experience in guest service, retail and cashiering, preferably 1 Year of experience in the hospitality service industry. The ideal candidate will put pride in their work, be reliable, and be friendly and professional at all times. The position is full-time from April 23 - Sept 4, 2023.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Principal Responsibilities: The Gift Shop Attendant is responsible for providing responsive and courteous service to guests.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service
- Conducts sale of all gift shop items using a POS system
- Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of stock, promotions, and assisting customers with any issues or questions
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area
- Obtains assigned bank and ensures accuracy of contracted money
- Keeps an accurate log of all transactions and completes necessary end of shift paperwork
Supportive Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Assist with stocking and inventory as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
- Attend required meetings
Other Duties:
Assimilate into the Packard culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of corporate policies. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Packard from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and total all other charges
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficient to understand special promotions and communicate with guests
- Ability to operate a keyboard and Point of Sale equipment and procedures to handle cashier functions
- Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces
- Ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check totals
Qualifying Standards:
Education
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Prior cash-handling and guest service experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
Grooming
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
Other
Must be 18 years of age or older. Additional language ability preferred.
Notice:
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Packard rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
