Job Description Summary

GE Healthcare is seeking a senior professional responsible for Global Strategic Initiatives and Supplier Management. This critical role will have responsibility for functional responsibilities including driving standardization and adherence to GE Healthcare policy in the areas of: 3rd party business partners, country of origin, classification, and global strategic initiatives. This individual is responsible for proactively identifying areas of process improvement and cost out in order to meet business compliance, fulfillment, and financial objectives.

If successful is near a GE HealthCare site, the role would be hybrid. In other locations this role is open to 100% remote.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate and act as Customs lead for business-driven projects impacting the Customs area

  • Appoint approved Strategic Brokers/Agents within current delivery model and define business requirements for Broker/Agent selection

  • Maintain and publish supplier metrics relevant to Global Customs

  • Track Broker business reviews with business partners and act as point of escalation for areas of concern

  • Manage Purchased Service partners and drive cost out and process improvements

  • Provide defect and root cause analysis on customs processes across valuation, classification, and origin determination.

  • Interpret data and develop recommendations for enhancements to systems and procedures

  • Develop tools or processes to simplify or automate manual processes and project manage the implementations.

  • Work with various business functions to implement Customs strategy

  • Assist in ensuring Enterprise Standard is globally adhered to and work with regions to implement organizational or process changes where deviation from standard is identified

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 6 years of Customs experience; or High School Diploma and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Customs leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to communicate (verbal, written) in English

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college

  • 10 years of experience with global tariff classification, country of origin determination, management of Customs brokers and 3rd party compliance providers, valuation, recordkeeping requirements, global trade management systems

  • Strong demonstrated ability to identify areas of cost-out opportunity and execute process changes to realize savings

  • Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different counties and cultures

  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization

  • Proven ability to execute, multi-task, and deliver on commitments

  • Experience working in the Healthcare industry

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified

  • Oracle order management experience
