Scope of Position

The Golf Course Equipment Mechanic is responsible to maintain and repair all landscape equipment to include utility vehicles, mowing equipment, hand tools, etc. The Golf Course Equipment Mechanic also performs a variety of mechanical repair and maintenance work independently, service motorized equipment, and does related work as assigned by the Golf maintenance Department.

Position Requirements

• Previous experience in golf course maintenance in a hotel or country club environment, preferred.
• Ability to use common mechanical tools.
• Knowledge of general operation of gasoline, diesel, and landscape maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of proper methods of servicing and repairing golf course equipment and adjustments of power mowing equipment.
• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Detect deficiencies and perform routine maintenance.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Repair and adjust engines and cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of light and heavy moving equipment.
• Overhaul automotive and other power equipment including engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, springs, and mufflers.
• Able to maintain and repair small engine equipment (e.g., trimmers, weed eaters, edgers, etc.)
• Secure and replace tools and parts.
• Maintain mileage report.
• Perform body parts repair and painting work.
• Perform other duties as directed by Golf Maintenance management team.
  

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Abilities

• Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
• Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Able to perform multiple tasks.
  

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
