What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Architect for a 12+ month contract with our UK-based client. As a crucial member of our team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing scalable, cost-effective cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. This role requires deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of GCP core services, migration strategies, and proficiency in GKE, Kubernetes, Docker, and Anthos for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to industry best practices for security and compliance, while continuously integrating new GCP features and industry trends to improve our client's cloud strategy.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, cost-effective Google Cloud solutions based on business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Configure, manage, and optimize GCP core services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
- Deploy and maintain GKE clusters and containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and Istio
- Ensure proper security, compliance, and adherence to industry best practices across cloud infrastructure
- Develop and execute migration plans for workloads moving to GCP, including hybrid and multi-cloud deployments with Anthos
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance cloud infrastructure using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, and Anthos
- Continuously research and integrate new GCP features, services, and industry trends to improve the organization's cloud strategy
- Provide training, support, and documentation to internal teams on Google Cloud technologies and best practices
- Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and stakeholders for successful integration and implementation of cloud solutions
What You Have:
- Strong understanding of GCP core services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
- Proficiency in cloud networking and security concepts
- Experience managing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and containerized workloads
- Expertise in configuring and managing Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as Google Compute Engine (GCE) instances, and optimizing virtual machines
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Understanding of virtual network configuration, including subnets, firewalls, and VPN tunnels
- Experience in migrating workloads to GCP, including re-platforming, re-architecture, and lift and shift migrations
- Familiarity with Anthos for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments, including deploying and managing Anthos clusters
- Proficiency in monitoring, logging, and security best practices during migrations
