Department: Food and Beverage Front of House
Reports to: Restaurant Manager; or Other Department Manager or Director of Food and Beverage
General Purpose:
Greets members and guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
Essential Duties:
Provides immediate attention to all member and guests upon arrival.
Welcomes each member or guest with a smile and escorts them to their assigned table.
Controls the flow of the work room by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining seating lists.
Taking incoming phone calls, notes reservations, and special requests..
Remains knowledgeable of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
Maintains organized workstation and side work duties.
Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System when taking takeout orders.
Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
Responsible for standards of appearance and cleanliness in all service areas.
Remains visible on dining room floor and is easily accessible to guests, staff and management.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Assists with side work, and/or assisting service staff with bussing tables, taking drink orders, reviewing features, etc.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
Food Safety and Sanitation Training
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Meets state age requirements
Knowledge of POS system
