Job description
About the Team
Product teams at Uber create the vision for the future of urban mobility: deeply understanding our customers to solve their transportation needs with innovative technology. On the Rides team, we work on products that reimagine the way the world moves for the better. The Consumer Experience team is focused on improving and expanding the ways our customers discover and access all that Uber has to offer, providing a personalized, fabulous and intuitive app experience!
About The Role
In this role as the Group Product Manager - Rider Platform, you will lead a team of Product Managers to build and refine Uber’s The Driver App as a powerful multi-product application. Putting outstanding user experience and design principles into action, you’ll work with designers and engineers to craft new features and experiences that will be available to over 100 Million active users!
You will help define the user experience for some of the most critical interfaces in the Rider app, build reusable platforms for internal teams, and ultimately increase the ways Uber supports customers around the world with their mobility and delivery needs as they adopt more of our services. Furthermore, you will be responsible for assimilating the business needs of a variety of team members, and combining them with the needs of our consumers to build a fabulous and effective in-app experience!
You will work with cross-functional groups in design, research, and data science teams - and across product teams within the company. In order to understand customer needs you will craft comprehensive solutions to address these needs. As a result, your work will touch millions of riders a day, including the experiences of your friends and family.
What the Candidate Will Do:
- Own the Rider Information Architecture and navigation experience, from its infrastructural capabilities all the way to the front-end experience, creating and leading execution on an exciting roadmap to materially shape the way tens of millions of people interact with the Uber apps (including shared experiences across both the Mobility & Delivery apps).
- Partner with design, research, data science, engineering, and other PM team members to understand user needs and difficulties, and then craft comprehensive products and solutions.
- Work with product teams around the company to understand their use cases and integrate them appropriately in the Uber App.
- Develop a platform strategy to reduce time to launch for new verticals and ensure the best possible experience for riders and shoppers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Design literate PM with direct experience with native app designs, navigation, and interaction design
- Minimum of 7 years of delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them - and you're deeply proud of what you've accomplished
- A passion for user experience: you can both guide design priorities for the team, and have an excellent sense of experience principles
Preferred Qualifications
- You can get the data you need and can whip it into an informative story with no help. You have experience running meticulous multivariate testing and experimentation
- Platform experience: you can take a laundry list of use cases and connect the dots to develop integrated, scalable solutions with internal customers
- Detail-obsessed and quality minded
