Ellis Island Hotel is looking for a new Guest Service Security Agent! We have over 900 hard-working and passionate employees throughout our many properties. Position Summary
Responsible for patrolling Hotel to ensure the safety and protection of guests, employees, and company property while also providing guest service assistance when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Literate and fluent in English.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
- Communicate well with others and can speak clearly to be understood by guests.
- Team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; and ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must manage high levels of stress while working with the public.
- Must be able to identify problems and quickly resolve issues.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming registration and Alcohol Awareness Card.
- Employees designated as Emergency Medical Technicians must possess certification from the State of Nevada.
- Ability to train on PMS computer system.
Essential Security Functions
- Patrols assigned area and assists guests and employees as needed.
- Examines doors, windows, gates, etc. to ensure that these are secure.
- Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest and employee conduct on the premises.
- Documents infractions and advises management where appropriate.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, unlocked security doors, etc.
- Responds to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.; investigates and completes reports concerning the same. During serious emergencies, may be assigned to assist in the evacuation of the facility.
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Accepts logs and stores all lost and found articles.
- Apprehends (where appropriate) individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities. Attends and provides testimony in court when required.
- Responds to verbal and/or physical altercations throughout the property and applies appropriate measures to resolve the situation. For physical altercations, employs the minimum amount of force necessarY to restrain any and all involved.
- Initiates formal eviction of disorderly persons when directed by a supervisor.
- Responds to requests for medical assistance when required and renders first responder type first aid consistent with company policy and the individual officer’s skill level and medical certification.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Additional Essential Hotel Functions
- Step in and assist front desk operations accordingly.
- Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures
- Complete the registration process and departure process when needed.
- Greet guests immediately; use a positive, clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information.
- Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery and encourages others to do the same.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; and regularly lift and/or move objects weighing at least 25 pounds. Employee may also become involved in physical altercations requiring the use of force to overcome and restrain disorderly persons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
