Scots Hair Design is looking to recruit a new Hair Professional (level 2) apprentice, who will be working at Scots alongside training one day per week at Grantham College. This is a position suitable for someone who has none or very little experience in hairdressing, but has a passion to work in the industry.

Scots Hair Design is situated in the town of Grantham, Lincolnshire. Our staff members are rich in creativity, inspiration and have a high drive to provide outstanding customer service. Our ever-growing team here are fully qualified with ongoing training internally and externally. Our customers are at the heart of our inspiration, keeping our education fresh and fashion forward. At Scots Hair Design we pride ourselves on our standard of education and keeping up to date with the latest techniques, styles, keeping us on trend. We are able to do this through involvement with various internal and external educational opportunities. Some of these opportunities include cutting sessions, technical session, product knowledge, merchandising, styling and learning how to work with styling tools. Some of the many businesses we work with are Electric, Neal & Wolf , Nine Yards, Ready To Wear Hair, The London Barber, Cloud 9 and GHD .As a salon we train on a regular basis, refreshing our knowledge and skills. Other involvement includes Session team work at London Fashion Week, various courses and events around the UK with different brands.

What will the apprentice be doing?

• Greeting clients.
• Washing hair.
• Styling hair.
• General housekeeping.
• Tidying workspaces.
• Cutting hair.
• Reception duties.
• Advising clients on treatments and styles.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

• Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Hairdressing/Barbering).
• Level 2 Hair Professional intermediate apprenticeship.
• Functional Skills (maths and English) if required.
• Training delivered at Grantham College and University Centre (Stonebridge Road, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG31 9AP).
• Training delivered one day per week in salon.
• Bi-monthly demos by Electric London session team.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Apprenticeship

Salary: £4.81 per hour

Schedule:
