Job description

We are seeking outstanding individuals with the below skills and attributes:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Performs any combination of following duties in poultry hatchery: Places eggs in incubator trays, wads paper between eggs to secure them, and clips trays to incubator racks
• Transfers trays from incubator to hatchery and removes paper wads from between eggs to make room for hatching chicks
• May deliver cartons of chicks to designated farms or commercial growing establishments
• Cleaning cages and incubators
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or area leader
• Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers
• Do all tasks assigned by members of management
• Must be able to follow directions and work in other departments as needed
• Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned
• Ability to work in, or around conditions that include fluctuations in temperature (hot and cold), potentially wet environments, or around dust and various cleaning chemicals
• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work flexible hours Physical Requirements:
• Stand up to 8-12 hours
• Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
• Work around raw, live animal odors

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hatchery or relative poultry industry experience
