Camp Winaukee seeks an experienced leader to manage an age group of campers (ages 13-15 years old) and their counselors. This role will oversee up to 12 counselors and up to 40 campers, helping to provide support to our counselors and care to the overall wellbeing of our campers.
Our head counselors also serves as a member of the Leadership Team, working together with another head counselor, the program director, and the campus directors to plan activities, lead activities, manage staff, and resolve general camp wide issues.

Camp Winaukee is a traditional residential boys’ sports camp on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. Winaukee offers 4 and 7 week sessions for boys aged 7-15.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Counselor Supervision – responsible for supervising all counselors that live in assigned cabins with our campers. This supervision includes daily check-ins, informal positive and constructive feedback, support during difficult or emergency situations, and providing input and direction about strategies for working with specific children or the group as a whole. They also support the staff in developing and implementing fun, creative and engaging activities in each of their assigned cabins.
- Camper Supervision – Head Counselors facilitate the social growth of their campers through activities and during less structured times. Head Counselors are responsible for managing behavior of campers which may include de-escalation, parent follow-up, and creating behavior plans, when necessary.
- Parent Partnership- Head Counselors are the main line of communication between camp and camper families. General update phone calls are made to parents in addition to communication in emergency situations or when significant behavioral issues present at camp. Head Counselors must develop a strong working relationship with our camp parents and provide outstanding customer service.
Dates: June 11th – August 13th
Compensation:
· Housing and all meals covered
· Travel stipend included
· Base salary: $3,500 - $5,000 dependent upon experience
