We’re looking for you to be a key senior member of our Analytics Leadership Team. The Head of Customer Insight & Foresight provides a bank-wide Centre of Excellence across Insight and Foresight by agreeing and then meeting needs of Value Streams both today and in the future, by generating customer insight, commercial insight, market insight and customer research – supporting Tesco Bank in helping our customers manage their money a little better everyday.

Your vision will be around building a best-in-class insight capability in financial services. You’ll lead, inspire and develop a thriving Community of insight managers, digital analysts, commercial analysts and research partners, who will work with our colleagues to deliver exceptional business and customer outcomes.

The Role

  • Insights and Reporting: Set and lead execution of the data and analytics reporting plan, creating strategies and templates to report data in a meaningful way. Create, present, and communicate high-impact data and analytics insights and recommendations to critical internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Make authoritative recommendations that have a significant impact on the business over the short and long term. Recommendations could be technical or professional in nature.
  • Business Requirements Identification: Elicit the most complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Advanced and Predictive Analytics: Create well-defined road maps that align predictive analytics projects with business needs, leading cross-functional teams in the implementation and ongoing use of advanced and predictive analytics' software tools and functionalities.
  • Data and Analytics Strategy: Lead the implementation of data and analytics strategy by developing a data insights integration approach and process aligned to key business processes and decisions.
  • Operational Compliance: Ensure that business activities within the area of responsibility comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies and procedures to minimise business risk and to protect the reputation of the organisation.
  • Performance Improvement through Business Intelligence: Create complex algorithms that identify patterns in structured data through supervised and unsupervised data. Manage data preparation in collaboration with different stakeholders/internal clients in the business.
  • Leadership and Direction: Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organisation's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
  • Organisational Capability Building: Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritise development activities. Implement the organisation's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organisation's talent pool.

  • Extensive experience of leading mid to large insight functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborator who can demonstrate how to manage complexity
  • Strategic mindset to see the big picture and focus on initiatives which will move the dial
  • Tech savvy to understand the world of insight and bringing in best practices
  • Passionate about insight and ability to filter out ‘nice-to-haves’ from actionable insights
  • Storyteller with excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
  • Champion Analytics and data-driven decision making
