OVERVIEW
The Head of Marketing Operations has the unique opportunity to impact the lives of patients all around the world. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Excellence & Innovation, s/he will be responsible for leading the Marketing Operations Organization. The position is primarily responsible for leading multiple functions in support of the Commercial Organization, including the Medical Legal Regulatory (MLR) process, Peer-to-Peer and Speaker Programs, KOL management, meeting planning, congress and exhibit planning, and promotional material management and distribution. This is a people management role with responsibility for direct reports.
This leader will have exceptional people management and project management skills, along with strong strategic and analytical skills, adding value to the Commercial Organization beyond operations. This role involves a significant amount of cross-functional leadership, partnering with and influencing major functional areas including Executive Leadership, Brand Teams, Field Teams, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Training, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and others. S/he will play a crucial role in leading in-line brand operations and near-term launches with potential to grow along with evolving product portfolios and the commercial organization. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for leading a team to assess/optimize/establish relevant processes, systems, and tools to gain efficiencies and scalability, contributing to long-term business sustainability. S/he will be proficient in managing complexity, effective communication, change management, cross functional influence, problem solving, anticipating challenges, process improvement and stewardship, and structuring presentations.
S/he will be an ambassador for instilling our cultural values and influential in recruiting, retaining and developing talent to deliver better patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Excellence and Innovation, the Head of Marketing Operations will:
- Drive operational excellence by evaluating existing processes and identifying optimization opportunities. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends process, systems, team, vendor, and efficiency improvements to operating procedures
- Design, establish, and maintain critical business metrics related to promotional materials, meetings, and speaker programs
- Responsible for establishing and managing an effective MLR review process in collaboration with commercial, medical, regulatory, and legal partners, as well as vendor management to support MLR activities
- Continuously monitor and optimize the promotional review process
- Develop and provide guidance/training as required to all MLR participants
- Accountable for the end-to-end MLR Management, including MLR Operations, Print Production, and Fulfillment
- Accountable for operational, vendor, and technology support for field-based Speaker and Peer-to-Peer Programs, including compliance documentation
- Effectively establish and/or manage external vendor relationships to ensure high quality and compliant services
- Optimize programs within company policies, practices and regulations
- Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of Speaker and Peer-to-Peer Programs to support best-in-class customer engagement and experience
- Conducts appropriate analysis to support recommendations to further enhance Speaker and Peer-to-Peer Programs
- Strategic business partner with the franchise and responsible for oversight of all meetings, internal and external
- Oversight of all meetings/meeting types to ensure they are managed consistently across franchises
- Understand franchise objectives and how that drives the conventions, congresses, and exhibit presence
- Create and manage annual planning calendar, budget development, on-going budget tracking, ensure accurate meeting forecasting
- Lead and manage program logistics, including venue sourcing and contracting, travel arrangements, event marketing, invitations, audiovisual equipment, menu selection, etc.
- Provide and manage to a timeline of deliverables and set expectations for all parties involved
- Ensure all event attendees are prepared and briefed on event and event objectives prior to arrival
- Viewed as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor by the Commercial organization and key stakeholders
- Regularly shares best practices and provides constructive coaching and feedback to members of the team
- Champion and instill company and cultural values. Ensure initiatives align with Lantheus’ culture and corporate goals
- Recruit, retain, develop, and coach talent to create business impact and achieve meaningful outcomes
- Demonstrate and employ the judgment, flexibility and situational leadership required to lead through complex combinations of market challenges, including business and organizational change necessitated by changes in the medical, regulatory, and business environment

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 15+ years in positions of escalating scope and responsibility within healthcare organizations/pharmaceutical industry or the equivalent and/or marketing operations experience
- Extensive commercial and operational experience with a solid record of achievement in either therapeutics or diagnostics, including launch experience
- Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and/or medical device industry federal, state, industry, company and customer compliance regulations and policies
- Pharmaceutical/diagnostic/medical device commercial experience/knowledge inclusive of marketing and/or sales, operations, sales training, and/or launch planning
- Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship building and influencing skills
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to achieve established deadlines
- Proficient power point and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience in Oncology, including prostate cancer
- PMP training or other relevant Project Management-related certification
- Clinical, scientific, and/or technical discipline knowledge (e.g., radiopharmaceuticals, urology related disease states, treatment paradigms, and future trends)
- MBA
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Routine overnight travel based on business need and some weekend work may be required.
