Reporting into the CHRO, Linda Grace, this position will lead all HR programs related to talent, including Learning and Development, Talent Management and the HR Business Partner function. Along with a ream of three direct reports, this person will lead and execute all HR-related projects from conception through implementation and will mentor and manage this high-performing team. This position collaborates with the Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards teams within HR to build a positive, integrated career experience for CSB employees.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of functional HR leadership in HRBP activities, learning and development, performance management, talent management, and DEI programs.

Key Result Areas:

  • Lead the Bank’s Talent Management Team, to include three direct reports (Talent Development Manager, Senior HR Business Partner, and HR Business Partner); with a total team headcount of seven.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to develop frameworks/processes for succession planning, workforce planning, internal talent pipelining, mentoring and talent planning, talent development and training.
  • In collaboration with the CHRO, set annual talent management goals and three (3) year strategic roadmap for talent and organizational development function.
  • Provide thought leadership and industry expertise on the evolution of this role as the industry and organization evolve.
  • Deploy the strategic vision and associated programs to attract, retain, assess, and develop talent across CSB.
  • Manage and mentor HR Business Partners and work with them to think strategically and at scale, as well as help them develop their employment law knowledge and expertise.
  • Lead the performance process and assist the HR Business Partners with the following:
    • Training employees on performance management system
    • Partnering with department managers to develop performance measures
    • Leading performance calibration sessions
    • Assessing performance outcomes
    • Making recommendations on training and development opportunities to increase employee effectiveness
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor appropriate metrics to gauge the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our talent management and recruiting processes and use this information to recommend process improvements as appropriate.
  • Create, execute, and manage the overall Learning and Development strategy and plan in alignment with key priorities for the organization.
  • Conducts annual organizational needs assessment and identify learning needs and/or solutions to address skills, knowledge, competency, and performance gaps.
  • Work with HR partners to facilitate more routine and consistent usage of standard assessment tools and practices to support talent development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10-12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least five years leading and managing teams.
  • Experience leading HR functions in high growth, high change industries, and managing through M&A, growth, and industry evolution, particularly as it relates to digital banking and in data analytics.
  • Experience in talent development, strategic alignment, and business needs assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct one-on-one conversations with leaders (all levels) that lead to talent and organizational development initiatives.
  • Proven ability to apply a consultancy approach having effectively managed expectations of stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to create practical solutions based on business strategy or organizational changes.
  • Proven experience managing competing demands and accepting constructive feedback while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of leaders.
  • Possesses and demonstrates strong influencing and negotiation skills specifically with business leaders and HR partners.
  • Proven experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship building, multi-tasking, organizational, presentation, collaboration, follow-up, negotiating skills and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing customer relationships and a track record of excellent customer satisfaction required.
