Head of Quality
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the Directorate of Academic Services & Online Education in a newly created role of Head of Quality. The successful candidate will provide senior Professional Services leadership, working closely with the Dean for Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement, and in close liaison with the Vice-Principal (Education) and the Director of Academic Services & Online Education, to ensure the assurance of the quality of all taught undergraduate and postgraduate study across the University.

The Head of Quality will work alongside the Dean in close partnership will colleagues in Schools, Professional Services, and the Vice-Principal’s (Education) Team to contribute expert input in regard to quality matters to inform the future development of the University’s Education Strategy. Within the Directorate of Academic Services & Online Education, the Head of Quality will provide overall leadership of the Academic Services team and will serve as a member of the Directorate Management Group working closely with other senior colleagues to ensure the strategic leadership and management of the Directorate.
This post is aimed at individuals who have significant experience of working in higher education at a senior level and who have extensive experience and knowledge of quality assurance in higher education, including ideally the Scottish context. The post holder will work in close partnership with Schools and as such it is important for candidates to have a good awareness of the academic perspective.
This is a senior appointment in the organisation and a competitive and incentivising remuneration will be negotiated with the preferred candidate. The position is eligible for pension through membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

An executive search exercise is being undertaken by Perrett Laver in parallel with an open advertisement of the post. Perrett Laver will support the Appointment Committee in the discharge of its duties, both to assist in the assessment of candidates against the requirements for the role and to identify the widest possible field of qualified candidates.
