Role: The Head Teller will direct and schedule Tellers needed to meet needs of the credit union.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes members and provides routine information, concerning; services and directs members to appropriate departments for specific information and services. Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments, with accuracy and equally share workload with other on the teller line. Embracing and using the "Service Strategies" concepts. Sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts, as directed. Post transactions to member’s accounts.
  • Accurately handle money with large volume of transactions; service members on a regular basis, handle member account transactions with accuracy and a sense of urgency.
  • Promote TCU products and services to meet and/or exceed branch and company objectives (Sales Strategies); cross selling TCU products and services. Remain current, regarding TCU products and services by reviewing information provided, by seeking answers, about such products and services and by participating in on'going training.
  • Balance drawer(s) daily, maintain a good record regarding overages/shortages, limit posting errors. Balance ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) and Vault. Manages Vault cash and orders daily cash requirements for the branch.
  • Check signing authority and override capability, as defined.
  • Assist with interviewing, training, directing, and evaluating employee performance, within the department. Identifies performance problems and provides regular and specific feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for scheduling tellers. Monitors daily transaction activities of Tellers. Ensures that all employees on the teller line, are in compliance with current policies, procedures and regulations and completing transactions via current system upgrades. Take action to resolve any out of compliance issues. Responsible for Teller's sales/operational goals.
  • Conducts monthly cash drawer audits and assist those on the teller line in developing skills to ensure accuracy in handling all transactions. Handles Member's complaints, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.


Experience:

  • One to three years of similar or related experience
  • Supervisory Experience, required
  • Experience as a Head Teller/Branch Supervisor, preferred
  • Demonstrated Experience in Coaching for Success


Education:

  • A high school education or GED.
  • Advanced degree/education, a plus.
