JOB DESCRIPTION:
CSA Materials, Inc. provides aggregate and asphalt construction materials for Texas’ infrastructure and building needs. We are currently seeking an experienced equipment operator. Our crushing facilities provide various base and aggregates used in concrete, roads, and different construction materials.
The Heavy Equipment Operator performs skilled work in a variety of equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, dump trucks, and haul trucks to transport materials from the pit to the plant in a safe and efficient manner in a sand and gravel operation. The operator will be responsible for the inspection of and some preventative maintenance on the equipment as well as maintenance and repairs on the plant.
Housing may be available for those not residing in the Alpine area.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Safely operates a variety of equipment, including but not limited to, excavators, dozers, loaders, dump trucks, haul trucks
- Perform pre-shift safety inspection of assigned equipment to assure safe operation
- Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite
- Report needed repairs
- Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements
- Responsible for cleaning equipment and some maintenance such as greasing the machine or changing or cleaning filters
- Perform morning stretch and flex program
- Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Represent CSA values at all times
- Perform related duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Knowledge of relevant safety procedures and MSHA guidelines
- Ability to effectively communicate
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of heavy construction equipment preferred
- Experience with a variety of hand tools
- Experience operating heavy mobile equipment preferred
- Must be able to read and interpret gauges
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
- Exposure to water, mud, dust, and loud noise
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Walk and climb on uneven surfaces
- Sit and climb for extended periods of time
- Repetitive movement wrist and elbow
- Stoop, kneel, reach, stand, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, bend or move objects

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
