Helpdesk Specialist
Davis Monthan Air Force Base, AZ
**Must hold an active SECRET clearance**
SUMMARY OF HELPDESK SPECIALIST:
The Helpdesk Specialist will perform two primary functions, computer systems administration and financial systems application administration. Troubleshoot end user tickets and provide support and/or resolution. Provide software support for various Apple and Microsoft products. Troubleshoot printer and network connection problems.
PAY: Estimated Starting Salary Range: $ 48-52K annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF HELPDESK SPECIALIST:
Computer Systems Administration Support:
- Install, configure, and maintain approximately 55 staff workstations at each location in accordance with Air Force (AF) Network Operations.
- Maintain all Government workstations in such a way as to comply with prescribed AF communications guidance/governance, to include the application of patch updates, and configuration changes.
- Participate in Cyber Workforce Personnel (CWP) annual training provided by the Wing Cyber Workforce Office for CWP liaison duties.
- Serve as the Information Assurance Officer (IAO) and focal point within the Comptroller Units for identifying and reporting all network issues or outages to the respective network help desk for resolution.
- Provide specific hardware and software acquisition recommendations to management based on analysis of the Comptroller IT needs, requirements, and existing resources.
- Maintain an inventory of printer consumables (cartridges, fusers, etc.), and shall retain all Unit print devices in working order to include toner replacement as necessary, as well as identify items required for purchase.
- As the Unit IT professional, advise management as requested on the latest computer and communication equipment/technology available to the AF via the AFWAY.
- Serve as the Comptroller Units' AF Portal content and SharePoint content administrator.
- Serve as the Comptroller’s Equipment Custodian.
- Serve as the Comptroller’s Telephone Control Operator (TCO).
Financial Systems Administrator Support:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various financial applications.
- Assist Financial System Administrators (FSAs) at identified location.
- Facilitate the upgrade and maintenance of FM applications in the event of a release or upgrade.
- Troubleshoot application issues, engaging the application helpdesk or local Communications Unit to resolve the issue.
- Build continuity procedures covering all financial applications in use within the Comptroller Unit Continuity procedures shall be created within the MS Office Suite of tools and retained within an FSA continuity binder.
- Ensure efficient collaboration occurs between all ACC FSAs. Collaboration shall include the maintenance of SharePoint and other community of interest sites to facilitate the sharing/distribution of financial application administration materials among the ACC FSAs.
Telecommunications Support:
- Manage the operability of the Comptroller Squadron telecommunications to include but not limited to, iPhones, VoIP, telephones, Blackberries, conference room projection equipment and VTC systems, and any Government issued cellular telephones and PDA devices.
General Support:
On an as needed basis, expect to add, move, upgrade, or patch weekly an average of 50-60 PCs or peripheral equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF HELPDESK SPECIALIST:
- High School Diploma
- IA Technician (IAT) Level I (with a Security+ CE certified)
- 1 to 3 years in IA technology or a related area
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF HELPDESK SPECIALIST:
- Hold an active SECRET clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Will be subject to a US Federal Government background investigation and must favorably pass a drug screen
- Understand the interrelationships and capabilities of other standard off-the-shelf microcomputer software packages (e.g., MS Windows, MS Office, and MS Teams)
- Knowledge of AF and Department of Defense (DoD) financial systems and their application environment is desired
- Knowledge of AF IT equipment accountability program, wireless devices, and all applicable peripherals is desired
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
- Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Fulltime On-Site, workspace will be onsite in a US Government Facility with controlled access and/or military installation.
- Travel: there is no travel with this position.
