Position Summary:

The High School Branch Supervisor & Educator oversees the ongoing activities of the high school branch. This includes organizing the high school student’s teller training, facilitating the banking program curriculum and promoting financial education in the school and community. The High School Branch Supervisor administers the daily operations of the branch and provides optimal delivery of member service in conformance with established Credit Union and the high school’s policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to members served by the Credit Union.

  • Trains students on the responsibilities of the teller role which includes, but is not limited to, processing teller transactions, proper cash handling, delivering exceptional member service, product knowledge and credit union policies, procedures, security and regulations.
  • Prepares students for the Teller Internship Program by ensuring they achieve proficiency in all basic teller functions. Identifies and recruits desirable credit union interns, for the Teller Internship Program. Ensures proper on-boarding and coaching to the Teller Interns during their entire internship.
  • Organizes and facilitates curriculum for students enrolled in the high school banking program. Conducts an annual review of the curriculum with other High School Branch Supervisor and department managers, as needed.
  • Proactively represents the credit union through participation in various after school functions and community activities. Increases the credit union’s visibility and goodwill with parents, school faculty, and the community. Actively developing new business for the credit union.
  • Administers exams and prepares grades to be communicated to school administration in a timely manner.
  • Maintains security of the high school branch in compliance with school codes pertaining to fire drills, lock downs, and bomb threats. Opens and closes the branch in accordance with all LCU security guidelines.
  • Orders cash for the branch within acceptable limits and follows procedures for proper cash handling and security.
  • Remains in compliance with Teller Balancing Policy and ensures balancing procedures are followed.
  • Responsible for the settlement, cash ordering, balancing and servicing of the ATM.
  • Represents the credit union to members in a courteous and professional manner. Provides prompt, efficient and accurate service to members at all times. Builds and maintains quality relationships by identifying and understanding the financial needs of each member.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the credit union’s products and services. Proactively participates in the referral process by identifying opportunities to expand member relationships as a result of referring members to the appropriate products and services.
  • Attends ongoing member service, sales, and product knowledge training to ensure the high school branch functions as a full service branch.
  • Attends financial education professional development courses and events as needed to increase job knowledge and facilitation skills.
  • Completes all member requests including routine bank transactions (deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, etc.), account openings, loan applications and servicing requests.
  • Recommends appropriate solutions to meet member needs and provides excellent member service. When needed, consults with and/or makes referrals to product specialists who can assist in meeting specific member needs such as wealth management, IRAs, real estate and commercial lending, etc.
  • During school vacations and closures, works in the capacity of MRR in various branch locations as directed, as well as dedicates time to enhancing HS program curriculum.
  • Ensures proper and routine maintenance of the branch, equipment and services, updates signage and marketing materials, as needed.
  • Adheres to all LCU policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with the following regulations: BSA, OFAC, and other regulations as required.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises all students in the high school branch.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of teller and member service experience. Proven leadership and coaching skills. Excellent member service delivery along with strong presentation, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build relationships with customers and work as part of a team. Ability to utilize various types of office equipment, including computer terminal. Ability to travel within LCU’s branch network and work a rotating schedule of Monday through Saturday.
