Friends Home in Kennett, a senior living community in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time home renovator with basic carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing systems knowledge to become part of our team. We offer a competitive starting salary and great working conditions. THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION, with the shift beginning at 7p, 3 - 4 nights/week, 31 - 40 hours/week, including e/o/w. Our small, home-like facility is considering applicants who are resident-centered and who value being part of a close-knit work family. EOE

Responsibilities:

• Spackles and paints needed areas.
• Renovates rooms as requested by Executive Director
• Installs flooring, patches walls and ceilings, paints, performs carpentry work, fixes plumbing issues where possible, fixes minor electrical issues, other duties as needed to ready rooms for move-ins- including clean up
• Performs tasks necessary to revitalize common areas, including bathrooms in the home, such as painting, spackling, etc
• Completes tasks such as installing new light bulbs, changing batteries, repairing loose railings/window treatments,etc in common areas
• Completes special projects as assigned
• Follows all safety precautions before and during each work assignment
• Responds to emergency calls from staff, assisting on-duty nurses and aides as needed
• Responds to emergency situations as outlined in the Emergency Management Plan
• Notifies Supervisor when emergency repairs are needed or when repairs outside the scope of the Tech’s knowledge are needed
• Assists in furniture movement for new residents or in-house room changes.

• Proper use of disinfectant and cleaning chemicals
• Knowledge of reducing cross infection
• Knowledge and management of blood borne pathogens

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $24.00 per hour
