Hourly Rate: $17.74, Annual Rate: $36,912.82 Effective as of: 08-16-2022
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
Certain Education Support Professional (ESP) jobs may include the value of holiday pay into the hourly rate. Review the Holiday in Rate column of the Education Support Professional Job Title, Wage Plan, Grade document.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY HIPPY is a home visitation program that provides weekly visits to families with children ages 2-4 years old to deliver the HIPPY International curriculum. During each visit, the home visitor will role play an activity packet with the family member, which the family then completes with their child. Home Visitors will plan and implement enrichment activities for HIPPY families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the coordinator.
Recruit and enroll families with children 2-4 years old into the HIPPY program through a variety of events, presentations, etc.
Use and understand the HIPPY Home Visitor Guide, on a weekly basis, successfully role play the HIPPY International curriculum with staff and families.
Coordinate referrals and advocate for children to outside agencies or to other programs when necessary.
Attend and participate in weekly HIPPY Program staff meetings for on-going professional development, collaboration, and program updates.
Complete home visit and time reports, enrollment forms, parent surveys, mileage, and all paperwork associated with the HIPPY program.
Plan and implement enrichment activities for HIPPY families in a group setting. May require supervision of young children during group meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned within Jeffco Public Schools HIPPY program.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED or willing to obtain GED.
EXPERIENCE: 1 - 2 years' experience in HIPPY home visitation preferred
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Basic math, writing, and technology skills including the HIPPY digital curriculum. Strong interpersonal, and communication skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver's License required.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory
responsibilities.
CONTACTS: Daily contact with persons in same location to maintain relationships. On-going contact with persons in other departments/buildings to develop and maintain relationships. Weekly contact with families of children 2-4 years old to provide HIPPY International curriculum support.
SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: Low exposure to self from bruises, cuts, hernia and disease as it relates to the contact with young children. Must agree to follow Jeffco Public Schools and public health guidelines for safe home visitation and use of school buildings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this position, the member is regularly required to use hands to fingers to manipulate or feel activities, reach with hands and arms and talk/hear. The member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this position, the member is regularly required to communicate, instruct and use interpersonal skills. The member is frequently required to compare and analyze. The member is frequently required to copy, coordinate, compute, evaluate, compile and negotiate.
JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Duties are assigned by the HIPPY Coordinator and Curriculum and Instruction Director through written and oral instruction. This position requires the ability to make decisions regarding information shared by families and to determine whether it is appropriate to document in family file or just incidental. Duties are guided by District policies, Department of Social Service surrounding child abuse. Decision making may involve collaboration with the other individuals/departments. Errors in decision making regarding the reporting of suspected child abuse, the District and the member could be found legally liable, and the child could be brought to additional physical harm. Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision making.
DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Duties in this position require the ability to communicate with families and staff members within the department and at local elementary schools regarding confidential information directly related to promoting effective educational practices. The level of crossover in this position would be across several other departments.
